Interpretation of Revelation Chapter 1 Verse 16

In Revelation 1:16, John the Apostle, who is writing down the vision he has seen, describes Jesus as having seven stars in his right hand and a sharp two-edged sword coming out of his mouth. His countenance is described as being like the strength of the sun. This description of Jesus conveys the power and strength of Jesus as he is revealed in the vision. The seven stars are interpreted as the seven churches, and the two-edged sword as the word of God which is able to divide truth from error. This passage is a powerful reminder of the authority and power of Jesus, and of the importance of His word in our lives.
