1 John 4:20
The Bible in 1 John Chapter 4 Verse 20 says:
If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, cannot love God whom he hath not seen.
Interpretation of 1 John Chapter 4 Verse 20
1 John 4:20 is a warning against hypocrisy. We cannot claim to love God if we do not show love to our fellow human beings. The verse reinforces the teachings of Jesus to love our neighbor as ourselves. If we fail to act out of love to the people we can see and interact with, it is impossible to truly love God whom we have never seen.
