Interpretation of Revelation Chapter 5 Verse 5
In Revelation 5:5, one of the elders speaks to John, the author of the Book of Revelation, telling him not to weep. The elder is referring to the Lion of Judah, which is Jesus Christ, who has conquered and is able to open the book and seven seals that are inside it. The Lion of Judah is described as being from the tribe of Judah, which is the tribe of King David, and is referred to as the Root of David. This is a reference to how Jesus is the son of David, and the rightful heir to the throne of Israel. This is a powerful imagery that symbolizes Jesus’ authority and power to open the book and the seven seals, which will reveal the events that will take place in the end times.
