Interpretation of Revelation Chapter 4 Verse 3
Revelation 4:3 describes the appearance of the One who sits on the throne in the heavenly throne room. He is described as being “to look upon like a jasper stone and a sardius,” which were two of the most precious and expensive stones in the ancient world. Additionally, there is a rainbow surrounding the throne, described as being “like an emerald to look upon.” This description of the One on the throne is meant to show how holy and majestic He is. The rainbow symbolizes His covenant and faithfulness to His people, while the stones signify His power, holiness, and beauty. The vision of Revelation 4:3 serves as a reminder of the holiness and majesty of God, and His love and faithfulness to His people.
