Interpretation of Revelation Chapter 4 Verse 2
In Revelation 4:2, John is taken up into the spirit, and he is given a vision of a throne set in heaven. Sitting upon the throne is One who is described as having a likeness like a jasper and a sardine stone. In the midst of the throne are four living creatures that are full of eyes before and behind. The creatures are described as having the likeness of a man, a lion, an ox, and an eagle. Around the throne are twenty-four other thrones with twenty-four elders sitting on them. The elders are clothed in white garments and have crowns of gold on their heads. A rainbow is seen around the throne, and out of the throne came flashes of lightning, thunderings, and voices. In the hand of the One upon the throne is a book sealed with seven seals. This vision is a vivid description of the majesty, power, and authority of God in heaven.
